Welcome to autumn and here comes winter!

Thank you for the best events summer we've ever had.  Records of numbers of participants came out for the Sunflower and Cutthroat, and even more importantly, the feedback from the participants was over-the-top positive.  Thank you to our summer event volunteers!

Winter is just around the bend, and we are gearing up here in the office.  If you are a Nordic Patroller, Trail Ambassador or Trailhead Ambassador, we will be offering our annual training meeting at the Rink meeting room, 4:00-5:00 pm on Tuesday December 3rd.  This is where we give you the information you need to sign up for shifts and support visiting skiers on the trails this winter.  Thanks for making it a priority.

At the training meeting, we'd be happy to provide you with an updated season pass sticker for the 2013/2014 season.  Prior to the meeting (online: http://www.mvsta.com/store.html), or at the meeting - please sign the waiver and pay your annual membership fee of $50.

Thank you for your service to and support of MVSTA!

A New Season is Here!

Thank you service program members for your skills, dedication and hard work in 2012/2013!

The new program year runs April 1st, 2012  to March 31st, 2014.

We are gearing up for another year of events, programs, trail work and trail presence with your help.  We got positive feedback from all of you on the nordic patrol and ambassador training session we did last fall, so we will plan to offer that again this year.  Stay tuned for dates.

You will notice on the "Contact and Job Description" tab that we are moving away from tracking hours.  Although we will still be asking you to meet an approximate 20 hour target, we know that getting the exact hours can be difficult for you and us.  Based on your job description, we will ask you to commit to a particular number of shifts or events, and because of the skills you have developed over the years as an MVSTA volunteer, we trust we are getting a high degree of value.  Our goal for this program is to offer you a meaningful experience, which hopefully leads to an important byproduct: that our visiting customers and participants experience the same by interacting with you.  You have been, and continue to be the backbone of the community organization.  Thank you for your on-going involvement.

If you will not be participating in the program this year for any reason, please give me a call and let me know.

Happy trails!
Danica
